Nathan's knowledge of this complex project has been pivotal in getting it this far, with the works starting on site in late 2020. MAC Construction Consultants are acting as Project Manager and Principal Designer on this project involving refurbishment, new build, and the relocation of the existing school.
Nathans 3 year relationship with this project will continue and will provide Project Management support to MAC Construction Consultants.
The Project to date...
From the initial survey it took almost 2 years to get final funding agreed for this project.
Nathan was asked to appraise 2 vacant sites in 2018 as part of the integration into an academy trust. Nathan's recommendations included relocating the existing school to these vacant sites.
A lengthy feasibility process identified the need and set out design parameters. The funding application was based on a “fresh start” and the relocation of an existing school to the vacant sites.
The project was funded through Strategic School Investment Capital Budget (SSICB), a fairly unknown but substantial funding stream.
Thankfully after a huge effort the client received the good news and kicked off one of the biggest SSICB funded projects.
Work started on site in late November with the refurbishment and modular new build blocks, all to be completed by September 2021.
